I am a third year student in the advanced diploma for graphic design at Algonquin college. I was born and raised here in Ottawa and am mother to four young, incredible children. After spending valuable years with my children, I returned to school to explore my creative passions in the pursuit of graphic design. My journey took a pivotal turn when I attended Design Thinkers in Toronto (hosted by RGD) in 2023. Surrounded by like-minded individuals, and inspired by many keynote speakers, I was mesmerized by the boundless creativity and innovative concepts on display. This experience solidified my love for graphic design — the ability to create, inspire, and connect through visual storytelling.
As I dive deeper into the world of design, my creative process is driven by curiosity and a zest for exploring diverse inspirations—whether it’s the vibrant hues of nature or the unexpected ideas that come while washing the supper dishes. I love bold, dynamic elements that command attention, balanced with a touch of luxury and sophistication. This passion pushes me to craft designs that not only look stunning but also create a lasting impression, sparking connections and evoking emotions in every viewer.

Timeline
RGD Student Committee Co-chair and Board Member
Demonstrating leadership and teamwork, I actively contributed to the event and awareness subcommittees, creating initiatives to foster inclusivity and build connections among designers. This commitment led to my appointment as RGD Student Committee Co-chair for the 2024-2025 term. In this role, I excel in planning and organization, onboarding new members and guest speakers, and setting the stage for a vibrant, engaged committee.
Global Skills Opportunity
Awarded a fully funded scholarship, I immersed myself in a 15-day cultural program in Costa Rica, focused on enhancing global competencies and intercultural understanding. Through lectures, discussions, and site visits centered on Latin American culture, society, and art, I developed adaptability, communication, and cross-cultural collaboration skills. This experience not only expanded my worldview but also enriched my creative perspective for future design projects.
Student Graphic
Designer
Recruited through FSWEP as the sole designer on the Policy and Planning Unit team, I played a key role in shaping high-impact projects like Vision 2030 and the BBE report. I independently applied design principles and deep knowledge of accessibility guidelines to create visually engaging and inclusive design solutions for stakeholder presentations, contributing to their successful publication.
Class Representative
I advocated for students by conveying their feedback and suggestions to faculty, leading to revisions in the Graphic Design program that will benefit the future of the program. My commitment to transparency included keeping classmates informed about meeting outcomes and decisions. I coordinated a Figma workshop, playing a key role in enhancing our collective skill set, and am actively contributing to the planning committee for this year's grad show. Additionally, I organized a lecture on mindful creativity with renowned author Radim Malinic, aiming to inspire peers and address concerns around mental well-being. This initiative fostered a culture of innovation and creativity during a challenging time.
